Goodness Sweetpeas and Chickadees,

It's been a while since we last talked, but since we see each other every day, this was just another way to remind you of all the reminders I have given during the day.  :)

I hope that each of you has an adventure to share when school resumes in August. I am eagerly looking forward to hearing all of your "tall-tales."

Have a great summer and always expect the unexpected. "Life is a dance; you learn as you go."

Seize the day!!!!

Lots of love your way,

Coach Shug

Keep up the good work on those source cards. They are due 4 March--no late cards accepted; therefore, plan your time wisely.

Remember to read your research packet and follow all directions.

Dear Sweet Peas and Chickadees,

If you were absent on Tuesday, 25 November 2008, this is the project that was assigned to students:

Julius Caesar

Project

1.  Students will recite each line (by memory) of Mark Antony's funeral oration speech found in Shakespeare's tragic play, Julius Caesar, as found on page D62.

2.  No written notes of any shape, form, or fashion will aid the student in the presentation/recitation of the speech.

3.  No student will be allowed to aid another student in the presentation or recitation of the speech.

4.  Grade given for the speech will be one (1) test grade.

5.  Due date for the presentation/recitation of the speech will begin 4 December and end on 5 December.  Failure to present recitation of speech during the beginning and ending date will result in a zero.  Pleas plan to volunteer to recite the speech in an expeditious manner so that all students may have an opportunity to achieve success.

6.  Extra-opportunity points:  Students will have an opportunity to dress the part of a Roman when the speech is presented.  An additional ten (10) points will be added to the test grade.  Pleas remember to use good judgment when dressing the part of a Roman.

HAVE A GREAT THANKSGIVING

and

WAR EAGLE !!

Sweet Peas and Chickadees,

The adjusted due date for the research paper is Tuesday, 18 November 2008.  Please remember to include ALL ITEMS LISTED IN THE RESEARCH PACKET for the final paper.  Yes, this DOES include ALL xerox copies of sources/information used in the paper; the information used will be highlighted. Do not highlight any portion of the final paper. (I showed examples of this in class.) I suggest using the packet information as a checklist to mark off items as they are placed in the manilla envelope.

Please correct errors found in the rough draft to avoid costly mistakes in the final paper.

Veteran's Day:  Enjoy your day off from school.

Be sure to thank a Veteran.  It is the sacrifices of those who have gone before you that gives you the privilege to sit in the desk in my classroom.

Remember 1957-1974:  Freedom is NOT free; the price of freedom is written on the Wall (the Vietnam Veteran's Wall)--We are home of the free because of the brave!
