This is the page where I'll describe myself in more detail.

My name is Gail “Shug” Johnson and I teach one class of Senior English and two classes of Sophomore English at Sparkman High School. 

 

I graduated Summa Cum Laude from Calhoun Community Collge with an Associate in Science Degree in Secondary Education and graduated Summa Cum Laude from Athens State College with a Bachelor of Science in Education degree, specializing in secondary language arts. 

 

I am a member of Who's Who Among American High School Teachers.

 

I am a graduate of Huntsville City Schools "Aspiring Administrators Academy" and was selected Teacher of the Year, 2006.

 

I am currently the advisor for "Be the One" society which is comprised of students who participated in the Challenge Day events at Sparkman High School.

 

I have been a teacher for twenty-one years.

 

My husband and I have six children and seven grandchildren.  I have six dogs, and numerous horses.  Gabrielle, my long-haired calico, recently passed away; she had lukemia.

 

For the past thirteen years I have worked for Varsity Brands Inc., better known as Universal Cheerleaders Association and Universal Dance Association.

     My husband and I sing in the choir and are active members of Bicentennial Chapel, which is located on Redstone Arsenal.
